Day Treatment Program For Addiction Recovery
There are specific advantages to Day Treatment over inpatient or residential care. Although in some cases inpatient is necessary for the patient, most treatment can be equally successful on an outpatient basis. The advantages are as follows:
- Attending a local program can help build clean and sober relationships in a patients home community. The support network is in the home community and includes peers, 12-step meetings, our staff and others in recovery, This also prevents a patient from being isolated, which can occur with inpatient programs.
- The Family is involved in the patients from day one. Monday night is family night, therefore the patient gets the added support of family members.
- Patients can continue fulfilling daily responsibilities, i.e. work schedule & family life
- The patient will recieve all of the treatment aspects of an inpatient program, minus sleeping at the facility.
- Signifigant cost reduction. Typical inpatient cost is $30,000 for one month versus our cost, of $6,500, and includes six months of Aftercare. An additional bonus is that the Aftercare program is local, so there is no lapse in care. The staff, peers and family all remain constant in the patients treatment, providing a continuum in care.
- Addictive behavior is exacerbated by triggers in a patient's environment. Inpatient removes a patient from his/her environment, therefore removing triggers until the patient comes home. Often, when placed back into their environment following an inpatient stay, the patient is faced with these triggers and is then lacking the support system of the treatment team to be able to face them.
